I got them one time in higher. Worst pain I've ever experienced.

Now I'm afraid I'll get them again. :(

Expert luck though. I found only being shirtless as much as possible helped as they were all on the left side of my back.

I got my outbreak coming off of a multi-week cold, yous may desire to talk over your general health with a medico.

I just used over the counter ointment, and powered through it. It sucked when my friend punched me there though.

Worst pain I've always experienced.

My wife just recovered from it, and I had it a few years agone. Really hurts. It is the chicken pox virus that flares up; there's a vaccine now, though.

Uh, information technology's the other way effectually. You can only become it if yous have had chickenpox. Shingles is what happens when the chickenpox (which lives in your spine for the rest of your life) reactivates. If you've never had chickenpox, you lot can't get the shingles.

Uh, it's the other way around. You tin can only get it if you have had chickenpox. Shingles is what happens when the chickenpox (which lives in your spine for the residue of your life) reactivates. If you've never had chickenpox, you lot can't go the shingles.

I had Shingles when I around 10, so had chicken pox when I was 17. Hadn't had any signs of chicken pox before that though... unless information technology only laid fallow without affecting me.

I had it a few years ago on the left side of my torso and it was the worst, especially because I slept on that side. Could be worse though, a friend of mine got it on his face which can cause permanent injury to your optics.

It'due south considering how information technology works is a little confusing. You can't grab Shingles. However, a person with Shingles can infect people who haven't had chickenpox with chickenpox (because it's the same virus.)

There are many possible explanations for what you had, including the possibility that you didn't take shingles at all, but I can guarantee you that nobody has shingles without first getting infected with the varicella zoster virus. The initial infection from that virus causes chicken pox. Shingles happens when the virus reactivates.

Im kinda lucky in that mine wasn't/isnt particularly painful and its already crusting up and fading. Im gonna try to get the Shingrix vaccine presently or whatever to try to avoid a repeat

Tbf, it's not that bad if you don't get it on somewhere actually unfortunate similar your face. It's painful but it's not like information technology's debilitating or anything. I got through a fair few games while I was under doc's orders to not leave my flat incase I give people chicken pox :P

Not necessarily. My agreement is that this only happens in a minority of cases, though the risk is higher the older you are when you have the infection. I never had whatsoever nervus damage.

I got them when I was x and the pain for some was brutal. I had to switch to Zovirax pills because I couldn't put the cream on. I know it's rare to get them a second time but it'south incommunicable to not think any small rash or blister cluster isn't shingles.

What was scary is when I got an infection from poison ivy it clustered and blistered the aforementioned mode.

I don't think this is truthful. Postherpetic Neuralgia (the longlasting pain after shingles) doesn't happen in every case. For most people, the pain lasts as long as the blisters/rash itself.

Ooph. I worked in a hospital for two years and nothing would make nurses run out of a room faster than MRSA. Not a fun affair to contract.

I recall i'thou incredibly lucky. I got shingles at effectually 25. I had a painless rash around my chest/abdomen that cleared up afterwards nearly a calendar month (doctor prescribed acyclovir when I got information technology diagnosed later about 2 weeks). I retrieve I had a temperature for a couple of days but nothing too bad. I occasionally got a very mild pins-and-needles feeling during the week or two after the rash had faded.
The rash is very distinctive (it follows the path of a major nerve equally the zoster virus reactivates), then it wasn't misdiagnosed.
I approximate it depends on how much nervus damage information technology does as it flares up.
